Many children receive free or reduced meal while at school. They rely on the food provided at school for their meals. When they go home, there may be a shortage of food over the weekend. We are working with local schools to help these children bridge the gap by providing a bag of readymade or easy to fix kid-friendly food.
Items children may receive in their weekend packs are:
- macaroni and cheese
- soup (chicken noodle, etc.)
- Ramen noodles
- Pasta and sauce
- Canned meals such as ravioli
- instant oatmeal
- peanut butter
- canned fruit or fruit cups
- canned vegetable
- juice, juice boxes or hot cocoa mix
- package hot dogs
- granola bars
